House Collection

We make some of our bisqueware right here at The Slip & Rim.

Founder Anna has bought with her a collection of shapes she's made over previous years of playing in the studio. A collection of mugs, pipes and a jug, that never quite made it out of the studio doors. Unfinished playings, they're ready for you to bring to life.

Our in-house collection will keep growing, with new shapes appearing as we dream them up. Useful things, silly things, sexy things, and things you didn't know you needed, little objects designed to bring joy to your every day.

Guest Spot: Brickett Davda

We're very lucky to be the only place you can paint your own Brickett Davda bisqueware.

Made down the road in Portslade, Brickett Davda was founded by Jo Davda who's love of food and gathering around a table has shaped a timeless collection of beautifully organic tactile tableware made for everyday life.

There's a bit of history there too - Anna has spent years working at Brickett Davda as their mould maker. So it feels pretty special to now have Jo's iconic pieces sitting our shelves waiting for you to paint.

Traditional, contemporary, wonky or simple - we choose pieces for their balance, beauty and everyday usefulness. Things worth painting, and worth keeping forever.

Every piece you paint with us is made to be used, loved and lived with. We only work with selected UK and Italian potteries who care about quality, sustainability and treating people well - places we’d be happy to work in too.

We have curated a selection of bisqueware that we love. They are tried and tested, and we can't wait to see them in your homes too!

A Note About Nina

Nina, ahhhh our wonderful Kiln, she is magical!

Most of the time she is an absolute gem of a kiln, however she has a lot to deal with - temperatures over 1000*c (hotter than lava!) - so things can occasionally go wrong. We take the most care, but can't guarantee that every piece will come out perfectly.
